Metaphorically slapped in the face (unlike CL)

It’s rare that I’ll ever admit that I’ve been given a wake-up call. It’s just who I am, an arrogant and egotistical person. This one particular situation, however, is probably going to be one of the few exceptions that I’ll admit to having been utterly and head-over-heels stricken by a hand of envy, reverence and inspiration. No, this has nothing to do with religion, if that’s what you’re thinking.
